                                       CHANGE OF HEART
The play of card is on: Ace and Spade and Diamond.
Why has the heart changed?
Colours just turn a hazy shade.
A realisation dawns-smiles fleet across the face?

Sly, premeditated, scheming ways.
Throw barred shades of answer.
maturity comes to aid.
stops the silly mind from tizzy thoughts.

Reversal of roles takes place.
I push that thought away,
Accept the inevitable.
The play stops.

The Heart tumbles out of the hold.
A sudden breeze sends the clouds scudding.
The card just slips out and is blown away.
To adorn the player on the next table.

  1. Maturity ought to dawn upon one's naive mind sooner or later. A change of heart is inevitable in this bad bad world. One has to take off those rosy glasses to face the reality...
